The client is one of the largest energy infrastructure companies in North America, operating thousands of miles of pipelines and extensive terminal assets that transport and store natural gas, crude oil, and refined petroleum products.
Project Goals
Expanding pipeline infrastructure to accommodate multiple third-party interconnections requires careful coordination, flexible design, and seamless execution. Our client needed a comprehensive solution to support the design and construction of six interconnect stations along a major transmission line, each with varying specifications and evolving requirements driven by multiple stakeholders.
This included full engineering across mechanical, civil, and electrical disciplines, as well as procurement and construction coordination to deliver critical infrastructure on an accelerated schedule. By providing an integrated engineering, procurement, and construction (EPC) approach, Atwell is helping the client adapt to changing interconnect agreements, maintain project momentum, and support the safe and efficient transport of energy resources.
Outcomes
By leveraging an integrated EPC approach, in partnership with another contractor, our team has advanced the design and execution of multiple interconnect stations despite evolving project requirements and accelerated timelines. Through close coordination with stakeholders and contractors, Atwell continues to maintain progress across engineering disciplines, adapting layouts, equipment configurations, and specifications as interconnect agreements are finalized. This flexible approach helps ensure continuity of work, supports schedule adjustments, and keeps the project aligned with client objectives as it progresses toward completion.
As designs move toward finalization and construction ramps up, the project is poised to deliver critical infrastructure that enhances connectivity across a major pipeline network. The coordinated engineering effort is supporting efficient construction planning and execution, helping enable safe, reliable energy transportation. By combining multidisciplinary engineering expertise with procurement and construction support, Atwell is guiding the project through ongoing changes while maintaining momentum toward successful completion.
