Aspire Energy operates 2,600 miles of gathering and intrastate pipelines in Ohio, with operations in almost half of all 88 counties. They have continued to expand their service reach by building new gas pipelines and facilities and upgrading existing ones to allow for greater reliability and gas transportation efficiency.
Project goals
Aspire Energy partnered with Atwell to provide turnkey services for a growth project to transport six million cubic feet of gas daily from a greenfield natural gas processing facility in Guernsey County, Ohio, to a downstream delivery point. This included services for a 5,500-foot gathering pipeline built to transmission specifications, which transports gas from two well pads to a central valve site with pigging capabilities. The new gas processing facility requires all the major equipment necessary to compress, process, and deliver the gathered gas to our client’s downstream customers. The facility also includes capabilities to produce and store natural gas liquids (NGL), which can be transported via truck to various NGL consumers.
Outcomes
Our team provided an extensive list of turnkey services, including survey, land plat, geotechnical, wetland delineation, cultural resource studies, environmental and air permitting, erosion and sedimentation control, equipment procurement requisitions, pipeline routing, and full engineering detailed design (pipeline, mechanical, civil, electrical) of the project. We also provided staking, inspection services, construction management and support, commissioning plans, and as-built services during the construction phases. The Project Team had to overcome many environmental and operational issues for a successful start-up. This Project helps support our client’s goal of providing clean, safe, and reliable energy to the public.
