This replacement project was developed by Woodway Energy Infrastructure to provide reliability and capacity additions to increasing residential and commercial loads in Central Texas. The project presented several challenges, including reroutes for environmental, cultural and archaeological concerns, landowner requirements, and an accelerated design and construction schedule, which required attentive project management to keep the project on schedule and on budget.
Project goals
Our client required a turn-key solution to replace approximately 41 miles of 4” and 6” pipelines across three phases. This included providing project management and professional services for site survey, engineering, environmental support, procurement, scheduling, cost tracking, material traceability, as-built, and construction management across the entire system. The expansion also included the installation of several M&R stations, launcher and receiver barrels, and other ancillary pipeline facilities.
Outcomes
Our team developed an aggressive and detailed schedule with hard deliverable dates for all contractors involved. We utilized our proprietary technology project management platform OPTICS to streamline multi-discipline data gathering and 3D imaging of the project site while providing the client with an easy-to-use visual model of project progression. Despite several obstacles, the final deliverables were presented to the client on time or ahead of schedule. Our team’s performance during this project has strengthened our working relationship and overall support to Woodway.
