December 16, 2024 (Southfield, MI) – Arlie Ison has joined Atwell as Vice President of Special Projects. Ison brings more than 30 years of professional and construction service experience to Atwell, with a strong portfolio in mission critical and energy EPC projects globally.

In his new role, Ison will drive Atwell’s business development initiatives, client programs and projects, acquisition opportunities, and strategic recruitment and growth in the national mission critical market. Along with leading Atwell in the data center industry, Ison will also play a crucial role in supporting Atwell’s organic growth in the Mid-Atlantic.

Ison’s distinguished career also includes a wealth of experience in land development across diverse market segments, and a proven track record of leadership in engineering, construction, design, sales, and operations.

We are excited to announce the addition of Jason Segneri as Senior Director of Land Survey, Land Development -West at Atwell. With nearly 30 years of experience in land surveying and management, Jason brings a wealth of expertise in workforce planning, team management, and operations management. His career spans across leadership roles in multiple states, including Arizona and Colorado. He holds professional surveyor licenses in Arizona, Nevada, and Idaho.

Jason is eager to connect with Atwell’s survey teams, help grow staff numbers, boost revenue, and drive profitability. His experience leading teams, enhancing employee engagement, and streamlining operations to improve efficiency and performance makes him a fantastic addition to our leadership team.

Prior to joining Atwell, Jason served as the Regional Operations Officer and Office Leader at RICK, where he successfully implemented strategic plans and developed long-term goals aligned with the company’s vision. He also served as the President of Survey Innovation Group, where the business grew from 5 employees to 35 employees over 18 years.

June 20, 2024 (Southfield, MI) – Atwell has acquired Hydro Consultants, a professional surveying, engineering, and mapping company located in Baton Rouge, Louisiana. This acquisition expands Atwell’s presence in Louisiana and the Gulf Coast region. The terms of the transaction were not disclosed.

Founded in 1984, Hydro Consultants services include land surveys, hydrographic surveys, pipeline route surveys, industrial site surveys, GIS, and more.

June 12, 2024 (Southfield, MI) – Atwell has acquired Biscayne Engineering, an engineering and surveying company with offices in Miami and Boca Raton, Florida. This acquisition expands Atwell’s already robust presence in Florida, adding over 50 employees, and will be the company’s first office in Miami. Terms of the transaction were not disclosed.

Founded in 1898, Biscayne Engineering has been at the forefront of South Florida’s growth and development for more than 125 years. What began as a partnership between two surveyors has expanded to include additional services such as engineering and GIS mapping.

April 15, 2024 (Birmingham, AL) – Atwell has opened a new office in Birmingham, Alabama, expanding the firm’s reach in the Southeast. A leading firm in consulting, engineering, planning, landscape architecture, survey, and construction services, Atwell already has a solid presence in the Southeast with offices in Florida and Georgia. This is Atwell’s first office in Alabama.

March 20, 2024 (Southfield, MI) – James Hall has joined Atwell – a national consulting, engineering, and construction services firm – as Executive Vice President of Special Projects. In this role, Hall will lead the execution of several corporate projects, including strategic recruitment, integration of teams from mergers and acquisitions, and organic client growth across the Atwell Family of Companies – Atwell, RVi Planning + Landscape Architecture, and Strategic Construction Solutions.

January 18, 2024 (Southfield, MI) – In its second acquisition of the year, Atwell has acquired Karins and Associates, an engineering, surveying, and planning firm with locations in Delaware, Pennsylvania, and Maryland. This acquisition continues to strengthen Atwell’s resources and capabilities in the Mid-Atlantic, building upon the acquisitions of Bay Engineering in 2023 and Ben Dyer Associates in 2022. The terms of the transaction were not disclosed.

Operating in the Mid-Atlantic since 1973, Karins prides itself on serving a diverse group of clients with their more than 50 employees. The addition of Karins will expand Atwell’s engineering and surveying services within land development, transportation, water resources, and public works throughout the region.
